Page title

Though social media captions and industry publications have used the title Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II, streaming services and most retailers are listing it simply as Confessions II. I believe the Wikipedia page should be titled Confessions II accordingly. BernieDoodle (talk) 14:14, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Cover image

The current cover art is actually of the deluxe version, not the standard version ~2026-23281-33 (talk) 18:59, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

@~2026-23281-33 I can't find an image of the standard cover. I can only find it how it's displayed on her website with the vinyl wrapping seen on it and the foil on the right side that closes the vinyl sleeve. I think they probably have this image up for a placeholder and they will delegate it to the bottom of the infobox with "Deluxe album cover" as the caption Jennica✿ / ^talk 20:52, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

@~2026-23281-33 The deluxe version is also what exclusively appears on streaming services and accompanied the album announcement. I would argue it is the "primary" cover, similar to Rebel Heart (2015), which you will see includes only the digital and deluxe cover as opposed to the standard. Madame X (2019), on the other hand, includes both covers. If anything, I would keep this cover at the top and the standard cover at the bottom if it ever gets uploaded. It is the primary artwork that has been covered in published press, as evident by the artwork and packaging section of the article. And it is the "standard" artwork per this listing. It seems only the standard phonograph record is the one that has received an alternate artwork (a.k.a. is not the main, primary artwork submitted by Warner Records. Live performances

@King10: just explaining the reason I added Garrix's live performance in the first place: (1) it was indeed played live during his DJ set and (2) as Billboard noted, this is "the fourth tune to be teased ahead of the July release", which I think makes this content relevant to the Release and promotion section. As to whether it should be under the Live performances subsection, I get that this song is not necessarily performed live (i.e., Madonna did not sing it live), but the general consensus in the EDM world is that playing a song to a live audience does indeed constitute a live performance, as EDM House Network puts it: "Garrix premiered the track live in New York [emphasis added]". Hi King10, appreciate your contributions to the article, just a quick note on quotation style you're using—MOS:LQ requires the use of logical quotation in almost all circumstances except when we're quoting an entire sentence, i.e., if the quotation is a single word or a sentence fragment, place the terminal punctuation outside the closing quotation mark. Here's a few examples from the content you added:

• [...] calling the experience "cathartic" and "like an exorcism." –  Incorrect:N "like an exorcism" is a sentence fragment.
• She referenced the cover as "a kind of religious image, a revelation," comparing her image to [...] –  Incorrect:N same as above.
• They co-wrote "The Test," with Madonna describing it as [...] –  Incorrect:N the comma is not part of the title; place adjacent punctuation outside any quotation marks unless the punctuation is part of the title itself per MOS:TITLEPUNCT.
• [...] which she expained: "Dance floors are a ritualistic space where you are free in your body and mind, you let go of anxiety and hopefully it elevates you to a higher level of consciousness." – Y This is a full quotation, and the full stop exists in the source.

@Hayman30: Thank you very much for explaining! English is not my first language. In my first language (Polish) interpunction is always outside of the quote. Samples sources

@Livelikemusic:, is there any specific reason why you want to keep external sources for samples? It's something taken strictly from the credits, just like writers, producers and personnel, which are always sourced to credits only. And for "Danceteria" you're keeping the source from YT video, which is also strict credits from Madonna/Warner. If some journalist mentions the song is sampling something, it's normally their impression from hearing the song, which seems to be less reliable than official credits as they may be guessing (in general, not specifically here). On Renaissance (Beyoncé album), which is a good article, all samples are sourced to the credits from the album (published by Billboard, not on Beyonce website, but still written on the basis of album credits). Third-party sources are always going to be preferred over primary/first-party sources on Wikipedia. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, so saying "this article does this" does not mean this article should. Spotify debut

"On its release day, Confessions II earned 13,068,922 streams on Spotify, giving Madonna the biggest debut by a solo female artist who rose to prominence in the 1980s in the platform's history", i'm pretty sure she has the biggest debut in general, male or female, not sure about groups. Lead wording: "house" vs. "EDM"

I'd like to propose revising the lead description from "mainly an EDM record" to "mainly a house record."

From the reliable reviews I've read, the album appears to be characterized primarily through house music rather than EDM as a broad category.

For example:

• NME writes that the album is "less rooted in the 'disco-house' sound of Confessions on a Dance Floor and more driven by the sinewy beats of Detroit and Chicago house." The review also describes "I Feel So Free" as "a deep house heater" and later refers to the album's "40-odd minutes of pounding house-pop." https://www.nme.com/reviews/album/madonna-confessions-ii-review-3954470
• The Guardian writes that the album "leans on familiar house and '90s trip-hop aesthetics." https://www.theguardian.com/music/2026/jul/02/madonna-confessions-ii-album-review

Given this coverage, I think describing the album as mainly a house record would better reflect how it is characterized across multiple reliable reviews. Other electronic styles could still be mentioned elsewhere in the lead if supported by sources.

I'd appreciate other editors' thoughts before making any further changes.

Love Sensation is not 2nd single

Love Sensation is a promo single. Just because a song was sent to radio doesn't mean it's the second official single. 'I Feel So Free' was also sent to radio, but it was just a promo single. No official source has said this song is the second single. ~2026-39678-65 (talk) 00:08, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

@Eurohunter: They are not proper singles per WP:SINGLE?. They were just imported as seperate "singles" in streaming so that people going for the guests' pages saw them as new releases. King10 (talk) 18:10, 22 July 2026 (UTC)

@King10: What do you mean? If something is released as single in Apple Store and has it's own subpage for single, then it is a single, if it wasn't released as single, then it's not a single. This or this are singles. If you mean ""single" is present next to all independent releases" where "single" is added automatically to every track from album it's not the case. I now you can mix 12-track album into one 2 hour track and release it as one track independent release, which then would be credited as a single and actually it could not be a single, but what elese could not be a single? If you have 1-2 track indenepended release, then it's something, probably a single. Promotional singles aren't avaiable to public audience. Eurohunter (talk) 08:25, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
