- ... that Condom Hut operated in a former photo development kiosk painted hot pink? Source: "The Condom Hut [...] is opening this month at an old Fotomat cubicle, painted hot pink..." . Also covered by NY Times.
- Reviewed: Luz Maria Frias and Paul Pardonner
- Comment: Will complete the QPQs shortly. Maybe this can run on Zero HIV Stigma Day on July 21 (the store was opened in July 1992)? I was originally planning for National HIV Testing Day on June 27 but it's way too soon.

Number of QPQs required: 2. DYK is currently in unreviewed backlog mode and nominator has 22 past nominations.

Well done on this article! The article is long enough and is new enough, having been moved to the mainspace just 2 days ago. The hook is interested and verified in the source provided and sourced in the article. The article is well-written, neutral and well-sourced and none of the sources seem unreliable. Earwig shows no issues so as soon as the QPQs have been done this is good to go! I think running this hook on 21 July would be an amazing idea :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 05:33, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- @DaniloDaysOfOurLives: thank you so much! QPQs added. Bridget (talk) 13:29, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
This is thus good to go! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 14:51, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Bridget: reviewed for promotion, the article looks great. How would you feel about "painted pink and white" though, rather than just hot pink? That's what the NYT source says and from looking at a picture it seems perhaps more accurate. Zzz plant (talk) 16:24, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Zzz plant: I was thinking only mentioning hot pink would stick out to readers and be more succinct, even though that's also accurate. For what it's worth, this recent Providence Journal article also describes it as hot pink in addition to the cited Tampa Bay. I don't feel too strongly towards either wording though. - Yeah, it's more hooky. I'm just worried someone could nitpick about "painted" implying an overall color when it looks like it was just the roof and trim is pink whereas the main structure is white. How about something like ALT0a ... that Condom Hut operated in a former photo kiosk sporting hot pink paint? Zzz plant (talk) 16:48, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- Works for me! Bridget (talk) 17:50, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
