Article creation

[edit]

I've corrected formatting and spacing. Kathleen.wright5 13:30, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've provided sources for as many of the statements as I could. In so doing I notice that the bottom part of the article is a copy and paste and could perhaps be deleted (I've included the link to the original source in my comment proceeding it). It also mixes a US perspective into what is otherwise a UK related article. I'm not sure the term has the same meaning in both places. I lot more work is needed. :/ Oboler (talk) 01:15, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

This article may have been confused with a stub which has a more scottish perspective. I could contribute to this article on 'community learning and development' - as it is termed here - as I work in the field. Would it be relevant to put it under this article but begin a thread such as 'international variants' type title --Jennyfoo2 (talk) 15:59, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lede

[edit]

The lede focuses on a Scottish system of community education right now. This article should be globalized so I am tagging it for this reason. Blue Rasberry (talk) 03:26, 10 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Plan to Add new section

Dear fellow editors,

I wish to add the following to the Community education topic: Can I possibly get your comments? Thank you.

Community education The concept of community education produces numerous ideas, concepts, and issues. Community education involves stakeholders in problems-based approaches to local communities. It facilitates the local to global linkage. The integrated approach utilize what students and communities know or understand. It ensures a long-term association with active and not passive undertakings as citizens. Schools have emerged as community centers which are open almost all day. These offer safe places for community ventures further than the traditional school schedule for students. Schools can collaborate with different community organizations for support and resources. Adding to Learner engagement section.

[edit]

I will further delve into the research regarding effective community education. One of the challenges was learner engagement. I notice that the article only mentions language as something that one community organization in the history portion of the article struggled with. Therefore, I will delve into city planning related organizations that demonstrate how they have confronted the language barriers and their actions invite a larger audience to be more engaged.
