Army or Marines?

This article deals with a military communications platoon. Yet it fails to clearly state some fairly basic information. For example:

1) Which country the information applies to.

Instead one has to ASSUME it is about a unit in the United States military on the basis of the references and the category listing.

2) Which military service (army, navy, marines, etc) it applies to.

Only down in the references, the category listing, and the accompanying diagram do we get a hint that it is for the US Marine Corps.

Both pieces of information should be provided up in the text of the article itself, Readers should not have to hunt round for them.

In addition there is the article's statement "The communications platoon, also known as the 'S-6'..."

My understanding is that the designation "S-6" applies only to the communications officer in a brigade or battalion. Just as the S-1 is the personnel officer, the S-2 the intelligence officer, etc. Instead the article declares that the entire platoon is "known as" the S-6. If that is so, then there need to be a reference to whether that information came from.

By the way, the references are pretty much useless for the article itself; and even their titles are misleading. Certainly nothing in those linked references in any way deals with the subject-matter of the article.
