Nesting habits:- I know that Wikipedia is not about 'original research' but in early May 2011 in Highland Scotland [Kirkmichael village, Perthshire], we heard a peculiar noise inside our woodburning stove. It was an exhausted goosander - which had come down our 20cm chimney, we assume, to nest. [How else could it have possibly got there?]. Extraordinary. We took it down to the river, three-quarters dead we thought but, putting it beside the water, it suddenly recovered and flew away. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.0.196.218 (talk) 20:15, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

What did Audubon call it?

• The print is only titled "Goosander", but the section where the bird is described is titled "Buff-breasted merganser, or goosander".
