Barrel configuration

[edit]

I find the statement that rifle upmost is the most common barrel configuration highly questionable. Besides a few 19'th centyry curios the only combination weapon of any considerable numbers that has it's rifle barrel on top is the Savage 24. Every other major manufacturer have the shot barrel on top.

The Blaser D99 http://www.blaser.de/index.php?id=54&L=1&id=54 has the rifle barrel on top, too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.30.52.21 (talk) 13:57, 30 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

The reason for the rifle barrel being the lower is due to lessend impact by recoil to the barrel.

I intend to change this section within a week or so unless challenged. 136.163.44.102 (talk) 13:53, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Corrected today, I also changed the M6 being one of most known examples as I doubt that anyone outside the US has ever heard of it.136.163.44.102 (talk) 09:34, 10 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Calibers/gauges

[edit]

"Few modern makers make high quality combination guns for the retail market; most are simple, spartan models designed as survival guns or youth models. Drillings are even rarer, and are almost invariably custom made to order. "

This is also a highly erronous. Many makers such as Heym, Merkel, Krieghof, Tikka, Valmet, Sauer and Lincoln make good quality combination/drillings in abundance. Krieghof for examples makes extremely high quality drillings to be bought over disk. In all this article seems very US centered and needs a re-write 136.163.44.102 (talk) 09:55, 10 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Preserving here by providing this link. My rationale was: "rm disputed and uncited section tagged since 2012". Please let me know if there are any concerns. --K.e.coffman (talk) 02:28, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
