Sourcing problems

[edit]

FelipeRev, thank you for adding this content, but there are problems with the sourcing and writing.

in the first version, none of the sources I have checked mention Comando Con Venezuela, resulting in what looks like original research and even a lack of notability. But there are in fact numerous sources in Spanish that do discuss the Comando, and most of the content as written is accurate and verifiable and could be sourced to reliable sources. The article as presented looks like original research and fails verification. Sources that never mention the Comando need to be replaced with sources that actually verify and back the content of the first paragraph, to remove the original research. The article as started is original research; the sources do exist, so I don't suggest deleting the article, but it needs to be rewritten to use sources that explicitly discuss the Comando.

There is also considerable uncited content, and many of the sentences are too long for readability. As most of the content is accurate and can be cited, I am not suggesting the article should be sent to AFD, but it does need a complete rewrite to sources about the Comando, rather than the political crisis in Venezuela. SandyGeorgia Hi! The article is a provisional translation of the Spanish version I made. My english is not perfect to the level of redact a full article by myself, just corrections. If someone can help with that I would be grateful. But it was NECESSARY to make an article about the Comando cause they're the real opposition policial force and the articulation behind the parallel count of 28 July. There's a lot of misunderstanding in English speaker levels about Venezuelan political process (precisely cause the local environment and the legal questions) and I'm trying to correct that situation in Spanish Wikipedia, but it would be difficult to do it by my own here. I'll ask for help. Thanks.--FelipeRev (talk) 12:39, 13 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
If it is a translation of the Spanish version, then there are other problems, as for those cases, you must add a translation template to provide attribution.
Also, the standards on the Spanish Wikipedia are far below those of the English Wikipedia, so it's rarely helpful to bring over any more than basic information.
My suggestion is to find a source that actually discusses what the Comando is, and reduce this article to only that-- the rest is original research. We can't used sources that aren't even about the topic to construct an entire article. They do that often at es.wiki, but it's not acceptable on en.wiki. I agree with your analysis of the issues and don't dispute most of the content, but as constructed, it is all original research. I would offer to help, but I am barely editing these days and simply don't have time. Thanks for trying, and I do appreciate your effort! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 12:45, 13 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Have a look at Template:Translated page; you must use that here for attribution. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 12:46, 13 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also, while the Comando may indeed be the organization, high-quality reliable sources mention the Unitary Platform; you will have to dig out and use the more accurate Spanish-language sources that do mention the Comando. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 12:48, 13 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
And I'm concerned that Xegma marked the page as reviewed considering these issues. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 12:49, 13 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
