[I wrote a review]
[edit]I wrote a review of the Colour Genie for Computing Today magazine in 1983. It is online at:

A shorter and slightly earlier review, from Your Computer magazine, is at:

Does its CPU really differ from the TRS80 one ?
[edit]It doesn't seem so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.193.172.200 (talk) 07:46, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
Removed uncited claims focused on company, not computer
[edit]Have removed uncited claims added in this edit that:-
- The company went bankrott, when its founder leave it with a suitcase of money. TCS in Germany St, Augustin, near Bonn went bankrott later.
The company has its own article- EACA- and having this smack in the middle of a description intended to focus on the computer itself is out of place. These claims would still require citation if they were to go in the company article.
two versions
[edit]Hi! There´ve been two versions of this computer sold. They´ve got a compatible, but slighly different rom. Which causes the "better" ones to show 8 rows to use more than the other. What leads games/graphics sometimes to look "cut" displaying graphics, but they do run allready, only lacking some rows below. Resulting (watch Youtube vids to verify) in f.e. shooter game space invaders running on the older computer model to lack the own ship sprite, your missiles seem to appear out of the blue, while you can still move your imaginated ship... Second difference is the VU display right above the function keys, the computers with the old rom chip do not have it, the others do. The VU display is only made for tape data recording (reading?), to save data more reliable on the best amplification, not distorted nor to silent. Mine f.e. is strange in the way, that the computer itself has gut the VU disoplay, but the photo on the package, similar serial numbers printed, shows a computer without...
