Names of streets the flats replaced

[edit]

I included some of the streets (Elderberry Place, Raspberry Place and Strawberry Place) that were cleared to make way for the flats. I thought the detail was noteworthy and relevant to the article and would be of interest to readers. Is there a reason it should not be included? Entropyjazz (talk) 14:59, 30 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Entropyjazz. The difficulty is that listing individual former streets isn't really relevant to the scope of the article. The piece is about the development, design, and history of the flats themselves, rather than a detailed catalogue of the pre‑existing street layout. The article now includes the 1960s aerial plan, which shows the full street pattern of the area before redevelopment. That image provides the necessary context without requiring a selective list of street names in the prose. Adding only a few of them risks giving undue weight to incidental details that aren't discussed in the sources about College Bank. For those reasons, it's clearer and more in line with the article's focus to rely on the plan for historical context rather than incorporating individual street names into the text.
