Reverting mass rollback from 22:44, 9 June 2026

Reverted the recent mass rollback that restored a months-old version of the article. While the editor raised specific content concerns in their edit summary, a disruptive mass revert is not the appropriate way to handle them. Here is why, based on core Wikipedia policies:

1. WP:OWN (Ownership of Content): The edit summary claimed a source was "removed without consent." Wikipedia articles do not have owners, and editors do not need permission to remove text that violates formatting, tone, or sourcing guidelines.
2. WP:BRD (Bold, Revert, Discuss): Reverting months of independent, constructive edits to fix a single content dispute is highly disruptive. If there are specific issues regarding the "codesmith" wording, we should discuss and edit that specific sentence, not wipe out months of page history.
3. WP:RS & WP:NPOV (Reliable Sources): The "Lars Lofgren viral investigation" appears to be a self-published blog or essay. Under Wikipedia guidelines, self-published "viral" investigations generally do not meet the threshold for reliable, independent secondary sources, especially if they introduce non-neutral or defamatory tone.
4. WP:COI (Conflict of Interest): If there are genuine COI concerns, they should be raised here on the Talk page or via the COI noticeboard, not used as a justification for a mass rollback.
