- BTW Clun had been a borough until that was abolished in 1886, along with that of Ruyton-XI-Towns in the north of Shropshire. Although it had no mayor and did not have right to return its own Members to Parliament.Cloptonson (talk) 18:22, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Clun's town charter was awarded in the early 14th century.
