Notability: significant coverage comes from Stabroek News (Greaves and McPherson on River's Edge, 2016; postscript to "West Indies Cricket and Postage Stamps", 2023) and the Guyana Times Sunday Magazine profile (8 February 2015, p. 16, print). Further coverage appears in the Sunday Chronicle (Osman 2005; Roberts 2007, both via the Digital Library of the Caribbean) and in Stanley Greaves's 2010 essay in Cross/Cultures 120.
Dates: the only source giving his years is the cover-art credit in Caribbean Quilt vol. 2 ("c. 1927–1976"). The 1976 death year is supported by Stabroek News (2023) and Roberts (2007).
Nationality: the Carifesta '72 programme lists him among Guyana's participating artists, and Stabroek News describes him as Guyanese and a former St. Stanislaus College student. Some opinion columns call him Brazilian, apparently confusing this with his years in Brazil.
Painting titles: Osman (2005) discusses an early work called Shave Ice Cart; the Guyana Times (2015) pictures Shave-Ice Man (1967). They may be the same painting, but no source says so, so the article treats them separately.
