Picture of Clara Collet

[edit]

It would be good to upload a picture of Clara Collet, and the picture at http://blogs.lse.ac.uk/lsehistory/2016/03/21/potter-collet-booth/ is a good candidate. However, we need to establish the copyright status.

As I understand it, the picture would be public domain if the photographer died more than 70 years ago (before 1947), or if we cannot identify the photographer then if the picture was first published more than 70 years ago, see c:Template:PD-UK-unknown. My understanding is that if this is a old family photograph that has only been published after 1947 then it is not public domain. The LSE blog page is encoded with alt="Clara Collet from Leicester Chronicler" which I think is referring to this webpage. Can we establish either the photographer or the first publication of this photograph? Verbcatcher (talk) 23:23, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
