The documents on which to base this article are at blacklisted sites. One may not even mention them at Wikipedia: the SpamFilter intervenes. This interesting subject, therefore, remains in abeyance. --Wetman 04:49, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sources at the French Wikipedia

[edit]

The French article has many sources, including some by Pawlowski, and doesn't appear to suffer from a blacklisting problem. When time permits, I'll try to bring over references from that article. The ones I saw are in French, however. While 'circulade' is a fun term, I think there should be a redirect here from 'circular village.' EdJohnston 16:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Purpose

[edit]

It seems they would serve a defensive purpose, particularly since most were/are smaller villages and may have lacked the ability to build a dedicated wall or warrant a castle. However, neither this article nor the French language version actually discusses the reason they were constructed in the first place. Coinmanj (talk) 07:07, 16 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
