[edit]

The 1911 entry for Cigoli was full of unsubstantiated statements. 1) First of all typical of all 1911 entries on Italian art, all Florentine painters are inescapably influenced by Michelangelo or Andrea del Sarto (all those born after these two). 2) He didn't die of heart ache when he found his perspective was off. Anybody willing to argue these, feel free. ~Caravaggisti

Pope Paul III and Cigoli

[edit]

Pope Paul III died (1549) before the birth of Cigoli (1559). How did he request to make him a Knight of Malta? Michael Shefa (talk) 10:11, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
