Kennedy Center Renaming and Chuck Redd

Just a "heads up" but Chuck Redd has cancelled the 2025 Christmas Eve jazz concert over Donald Trump's decision to rename the Kennedy Center.

"The Kennedy Center’s annual Christmas Eve jazz concert was canceled Wednesday after its longtime host declined to perform in protest of the recent changes to the performing arts center’s name. Chuck Redd, who’s hosted the holiday “Jazz Jams” since 2006, said he made the decision after seeing President Trump’s name added to the building, which was named after former President Kennedy and serves as a living tribute to the assassinated president."

Oh lord, this is not going to end cleanly I gather, "Kennedy Center vows to sue musician who canceled performance over Trump name change":

Not a lawyer here but what was name of venue when Chuck agreed to play there? If name changed without artist’s contractual consent it appears the contract is no longer valid. This is how contracts work right? What is the big deal about? If I was philosophically opposed to the name of a venue and would have never agreed to perform there, this is my personal choice. If I contractually agree to perform at a named venue whose name I am ethically comfortable with then that is my contract. If that venue then changes it’s name to one I ethically am not comfortable with and which I feel can damage my reputation and future earnings, then my contract has been changed and rendered invalid. This seems like an issue that any American can understand. Nobody should be forced to do something which they in fact did not contractually agree to do. The Kennedy Center Board should have thought about all the contracts that had to be renegotiated before deciding to make this change. It would only have been the fair thing to do. Errr… The board is just kowtowing to Donald Trump's whims and desires. You are making an impassioned plea, but it falls on utterly dead ears. If Donald Trump wants the John F.
