Thanks, I have edited it slightly. PoliticsHome say £3m from July to Sept 2019. The BBC say that his £3m donations "amounts to more than 90% of the Brexit Party's total funding" and Private Eye have since reported an additional £2m in November 2019. I think it is reasonable to say largest since he was at 90% before when he had given £3m but that phrase is not used in the source so I am open to alternative hooks. Article is new enough, long enough and well written; I found no overly close paraphrasing from the sources; reliable sources are cited inline throughout; nomination is awaiting a QPQ and we'll need a second opinion as ALT1 was proposed by me - Dumelow (talk) 09:00, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

"also" has Thai citizenship

"Christopher Charles Sherriff Harborne (born December 1962) is a Thai" "He also holds Thai citizenship"

These two sentences together seem peculiar. We need to see if he still has British citizenship and update accordingly. Some sources refer to him as British. Salmon Of Ignorance (talk) 09:48, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

This struck me as odd too.

Markets.com (blacklisted on Wikipedia - is it very bad? I have no idea), aa.com.tr and MoneyWeek all identify him as a British citizen, and many sources describe him as British. Should the opening describe him as British-Thai, or something? Nigel Farage is quoted as saying his 'natural home' is Britain. :-|

I can't actually find a single non-Wikipedia source that describes him as Thai. They say he's Thailand-based, a Thai citizen, which is not the same thing. I'm a Canadian citizen, but I'm not Canadian. Oolong (talk) 10:31, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

I've restored 'British-Thai' for now - I see the 'British' was only removed this week, by an anonymous account who didn't cite any sources, saying 'Christopher Harborne no longer holds British citizenship'. Oolong (talk) 10:33, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

MOS:ETHNICITY, referenced by @~2026-11737-23 in their edit, says 'Ethnicity, religion, or sexuality should generally not be in the lead unless relevant to the subject's notability. Similarly, neither previous nationalities nor the country of birth should be mentioned in the opening paragraph unless relevant to the subject's notability.'

Given he is known largely for his donations to British political parties and bankrolling of Brexit, his Britishness is obviously relevant to his notability even if it turns out he has renounced his citizenship. Oolong (talk) 10:37, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
