My father Gabriel Chandler Spence went to Chingola in March 1939 to work as
the first sampler of copper at Nchanga Mine. So I believe that Chingola was
founded earlier than 1943 as stated in the article. An article was written about his
was early days at Nchanga and it appeared in the Nchanga Weekly Newspaper on July 29th 1966.

Is the population of Chingola really that high? I'm surprised its over ~50k. The number at the top of the page also contradicts the number at the bottom of the page (166k vs 16k). Ichakrab (talk) 23:29, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
