Chinese Manichaean Council

[edit]

There was a mention of a "Chinese Manichaean Council" in this article before. It has since been removed for a lack of a citation, but if anyone knows anything about it please readd it. It is in this revision https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chinese_Manichaeism&oldid=961629630 Immanuelle 💗 (please tag me) 21:16, 15 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Immanuelle: I have never heard anything about it and am surprised that it allegedly exists. Manichaeism in China is typically practiced as local folk religion in a few scattered villages around Fujian. There was a lot of publicity about Manichaeism in Fujian beginning from the 2010s, so this might be worth looking into. Lingnanhua (talk) 20:20, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Lingnanhua I found the original adding. It was the very first revision by @Æo from 2015. It is not originating from this which I believe plagiarizes the 2015 article
This quora page https://www.quora.com/Do-any-Chinese-religions-have-remnants-of-Manichaeism cites this news article http://web.archive.org/web/20181110185813/http://www.mzb.com.cn/html/report/180324253-1.htm but that news article also came after the adding of the text to this article. It might give documentation but I am skeptical Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 22:03, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
