"The pharyngealized vowels correspond to the sequences of vowel + /r/ in the standard language." Being a native speaker of the dialect, I would strongly contest this; in fact, this is the most obvious thing that gives away someone who tries to imitate the dialect (and other varieties of Saxonian), and it sounds distinctly wrong to a native speaker (about as wrong as Germans pronouncing "wictory" to an English speaker). The difference seems to be that pharyngealization starts at the onset of the vowel and remains constant throughout, whereas in vowel + /r/ the constriction increases towards the /r/. --128.6.37.57 (talk) 02:14, 26 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
