Fixes Needed

[edit]

Chelonoidis petersi or Chaco Tortoise is a valid species and needs to be fixed, it currently redirects to Argentine Tortoise (Chelonoidis chilensis) not the same species. Will get to it unless someone else can sort it. Faendalimas (talk) 06:04, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Resolved. Redirect was going to incorrect article. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 12:54, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
The confusion arises from Chelonoidis chilensis information http://www.iucnredlist.org/apps/redlist/details/9007/0. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 13:09, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for that I wanted to do enough to keep it all functional last night and was tired this one got put aside for a minute. Cheers, Faendalimas (talk) 17:42, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wrong use of "chelonians" =

[edit]

The article said they are "among the largest extant terrestrial chelonians", referring to the Galapagos tortoises, but the word "chelonians" used refers to a different genus: Chelonia is a genus of sea turtles comprising the Green Sea Turtle. For the Galapagos tortoises, consider the term Chelonoidians. This is different from Chelonioids which refer to all marine turtles.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.54.148.251 (talk) 09:45, 2 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
