Status of ranks and individuals

Pretty much all Chinese sources seem to agree on Pak Il-u's promotion to the rank of Vice Marshal in 1953 (possibly in the same wave of conferment as Kim Il-sung and Choe Yong-gon?). Was he a Vice Marshal of the Democratic People's Republic or a Vice Marshal of the People's Army (if it existed then)?

Also, what's the current status of the rank "Vice Marshal of the Democratic People's Republic"? It seems to have been phased out completely. Bloody-pin (talk) 14:34, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
