Well, I took much of what I wrote from various sources online. I'm not totally sure which now, but I could replicate them. However, they do contradict each other sometimes.

There is so little in the way of biographical material on her. There isn't even an article in the French wikipedia. The stuff in Langer may be the best we have that one can easily get hold of.

I take no credit for some of the French Communist political stuff. That was added by ... oh, I'll have to check the history file. But s/he seems to know some good stuff.

I'm glad to see someone else working on this. Did you also start the Auschwitz and After page? I can easily move a lot of the stuff specific to it in "Work" there, where it would belong. Oh, and I can scan my copy of the book for a pic; it would look better.

Speaking of which, is there anywhere we can get an image of Delbo for this article OK to use?

Yeah, I started Auschwitz and After when I was here. I'll confess to knowing very little about her, but the work here, and the book reviews I came across made it pretty clear that she could use the space. That'd be great if you could scan a better book cover - then I'd feel less guilty for snagging the one that's there now.:)--Bookandcoffee 08:36, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Poorly sourced

Some parts are sourced, some are not.

The Holocaust connection is poorly sourced. The French article does not mention Shoah, only some references do.

replace photo?

The photo that is on other language versions of this article should be deleted in the once an admin on Commons gets arround to reviewing my DR. One Yann Pensec-Roussel had claimed it was their own work but I got suspicious with the reference of an official website in the title of the file. I was able to trace it to this website where the photo is credited to Éric Schwab, whose work won't be in the public domain until 2058. I think it is a better photo than the one currently on here so I think we should replace it. A photo of an Auschwitz tattoo is always quite gripping but it's hard to actually make out her face. 1Veertje (talk) 15:25, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

The photo here is the one used on the U.S. cover of her book, which is under fair use so a Commons DR won't have an impact here. But I am amenable to discussions about using that photo you linked to where you can see more of her face as well as the tattoo, for purely aesthetic reasons. Yes I was proposing using it under fair use here on enwiki, which would make it in the enviable position that it will keep being displayed once the DR closes on Commons. And it was indeed very likely that they were taken on the same day, if you follow the link there is one of her sitting in the same spot but with her arms down and looking directly to the camera and there's a note at the bottom of the page crediting all the photos on the page to Schwab. The 1950s in the date field on Commons is an estimation on my part. She still looks quite young but it's not during the war either. 1Veertje (talk) 18:41, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

Generally articles about movies, or visual artists whose works are largely still under copyright. There's an informal limit of four per article, and of course they all have to be either in the whitelist for infobox images or justified by sourced non-trivial commentary in the adjacent text.
