Charlie Sloth's Real Name

[edit]

After a citation was requested for Charlie Sloth's age and place of birth, I've been trying to do some research on the subject.

I've found examples where his age suggests a date of birth in 1981, as well as examples where his age suggests a date of birth in 1987.

However, I've also found an interview he did with the NME in which it is revealed that Charlie Sloth is not actually his real name[1] - which might explain why it's not necessarily that straightforward to work out his proper age.

Without knowing his real name I'm not quite sure how this information should be relayed in the article. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Looking through the profile, have removed. If there are any sources of him acting, will be happy to return. WormTT(talk) 11:15, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Edits over full name

[edit]

There have been some edits over his name, with editors claiming that his birth name isn't Ian Paul Rouillon, and removing reference to the name. This is despite the name being referenced as a person with significant control on the Companies House page for Grimey Limey Entertainment Limited, which is the same name (with the same date of birth) as Clipstone Collective Limited, where the name originally used was Ian Paul Rouillon.

None of this could possibly show a birth name (and I think the wording is inappropriate unless there is a source for a birth name), but suggests that Charlie Ian Paul Rouillon or Ian Paul Rouillon is the full name. 84.92.90.18 (talk) 11:30, 24 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

U.K. records show the birth of Ian P. Rouillon registered in September 1981, Camden. This fits with his birth in August of that year, and with the Companies House change of name document mentioned by the contributor above that was filed 11 April 2019- https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11326477/filing-history?page=2 - which states 'Ian Paul Rouillon' would henceforth be 'Charlie Ian Paul Rouillon', i.e., like so many others, he's (presumably officially, by deed poll) added his better-known nickname to his birth name.  Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-23060-19 (talk) 01:30, 15 April 2026 (UTC) Reply
It's worth observing that edits insisting upon the 'Charlie' as specifically part of the birth name, as this summary from one of 10 June 2025- "Factually addressed the incorrect birth name. As misprinted by tabloid newspapers in 2018. His correct birth name is Charlie Ian Paul Rouillon as addressed across official UK Gov websites"- seem very... insistent. If unsupportable by actual facts.  Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-23060-19 (talk) 01:34, 15 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
