He continues to tour with Elvis Costello but the Other Activity does not mention any activity past 2022. Birthdate

I noticed this article didn't have a birthdate (and therefore an age) for Sexton. Google/AI immediately claimed with confidence that Sexton's birthdate was August 11, 1968. I then demanded Google/AI provide a citation for this, and this is what came back: Jason, Crouch. "Charlie Sexton: Too Many Ways to Fall." The Journal of Texas Music History, vol. 19, no. 4, 2019, pp. 20–31. This article, published through the Texas State University Digital Repository, states, "Charles Wayne Sexton was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 11, 1968, to Kay and Mike Sexton". So why am I not 'being bold' and adding this to this article -- uhmm, I'm not bold enough. EricTN (talk) 08:05, 30 August 2025 (UTC)

Can you provide a link to that article?

It's good to be cautious at times like this, because there's a real risk of WP:CITOGENESIS -- i.e., that birthdate was already in our article before their article was published, and there's a chance they got the information from our article, which is unreliable. However, the particular article you cite seems to be rather in depth, with plenty of detail that wouldn't just be scooped from Wikipedia, we can reasonably expect that they got the birth date on their own. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 13:57, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
