Alverthorpe/Hemsworth?

[edit]

FreeBMD states that Charles Annable's birth was registered in Hemsworth district, but the Ogden's Famous Rugby Players (Card 24 of 50) states he was born in Alverthorpe. Although both of these places are in what was the West Riding of Yorkshire, I don't believe that Alverthorpe was in the Hemsworth district, and anyone who was born in Alverthorpe would most likely have their birth registered in either Wakefield, or Lower Agbrigg. I'm unsure as to whether it is/was a legal requirement to register a birth in the district where the birth took place, or whether there is/was a requirement to just register the birth somewhere. Or it could that Charles Annable was born in Hemsworth district, but brought up in Alverthorpe? Any help would be appreciated. Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 08:50, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
