is considered as one of the oldest Chinese dialects for it preserves many elegant and refined features from ancient Chinese that have been lost in some of the other modern dialects of Chinese.
[edit]This statement needs substantiation. What are the sources of such claims? What are the 'elegant' and 'refined' features from 'ancient' Chinese? Chinese from which period? Are there examples of such 'features'?
Problem with maps
[edit]Why not also include a map showing the whole Chaoshan region? The "city maps" in the current version of this article are deficient in that they don't show the surrounding area, so there's no context for where they are located.
