- Chandra Shekhar was born on 17 April 1927 in a Rajput family at Ibrahimpatti, a village in Uttar Pradesh. He came from a poor farming family.[1][2]

- The office of Prime Minister: A largely north Indian upper-caste, Hindu affair says that two Prime Ministers "have been Rajputs/Thakurs (V P Singh and Chandra Shekhar)" and "eight are from Uttar Pradesh (Nehru, Shastri, Indira, Charan Singh, Rajiv, V P Singh, Chandra Shekhar and Vajpayee)". It does not mention his date of birth.
So the IP editor was right in trying to change the date of birth to 1 July 1927.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:13, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Surname or family name
[edit]Although Shri Chandrasekhar was born into a Zamindari family, nowhere his surname or family name is used as a suffix as is the custom. Did he by choice not use any sur/family name or what was the background?
