Shorty Gable
[edit]As stupid as this is (and I mean wtf WWE), this is official so stop reverting a sourced name change. He was announced as such multiple times, across multiple matches, had the nameplate say "Shorty Gable" and the commentators referred to him as such nonstop.

- As I was told to go here multiple times, so 2 days after I originally did I'll make a second message with 2 additional sources:
"WWE Change's Superstars Name". ringsidenews.com. Ringside News. October 11, 2019. "Shorty Gable WWE Profile". wwe.com. WWE. October 14, 2019.
Not that anybody goes here. 75.121.31.179 (talk) 19:19, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
- Regarding the WWE profile: Through 13 October, it still referred to him as "Chad". It was changed sometime during the day on 14 October to "Shorty". So, it appears that the change is being made and slowly proliferating out. —C.Fred (talk) 20:28, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Gable Not Dead
[edit]Fans thought Gable passed away on June 17, 2024, after being assaulted by Wyatt Sick6 on Raw. That is not true. It was kayfabe.Kingzwest (talk) 15:55, 19 June 2024 (UTC)(talk)
El grande Americano
[edit]as there are no official sources stating that Chad gable is El grande Americano should this really be referanced? we all know it is but it cant be cited properaly. additionally citation 90 which is the one that is referanced makes no mention of Chad Gable and is an article about El Grande Americano's debut. I dont want to delete anything because we all know who it is. but there is no official source tat we can link that states this due to it being a thinly veiled secret. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.152.219.34 (talk) 16:12, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

- How does that change anything? He mentioned it in reference to the ongoing confusion as to the identity, which was not confirmed. 2605:B100:162:4C27:5503:4363:28E8:5C2B (talk) 02:33, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
I'd consider WrestleVotes an official source, as seen here: https://www.wrestlingnewssource.com/news/92531/Chad-Gable-and-Dragon-Lee-Receive-Major-Backstage-Praise/. I think the best course of action is stating that El Grande Americano seems like Chad Gable, as WWE hasn't confirmed it themselves (even though they're obviously the same person) Thatoneguylol101 (talk) 04:13, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- Second this, just suggested the same edit myself. It's a conspiracy. CNeedham28 (talk) 09:29, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
In a very rare break from protocol, I have made a few edits on behalf of another person -- this one a child. Apparently, even an announcer on WWE was complaining about how El Grande Americano redirected to Chad Gable, and young person who knows I am a wikipedian really wanted it fixed. Is this an important issue, no. But RSes do seem to bear out that the two in-universe characters may not be the same person, and who are we to say differently?! lol Feoffer (talk) 14:59, 10 June 2025 (UTC)

Chad Gable does not wrestle under the name El Grande Americano. There is zero evidence to prove this and is a common mistake. CNeedham28 (talk) 09:27, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Lemonademan22 (talk) 21:24, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
