Description section
[edit]@Aona1212: I appreciate that the description section was added in good faith. However, the source used is so old that there are real problems in using it. It refers to the genus Epeira, which is now regarded as a synonym of Araneus. It says "The typical North American species is Cercidia funebris", but this species is now accepted as Hypsosinga funebris, so is not one of the three accepted in this genus. Hence the description in McCook (1893) can't be taken as applying the current circumscription of the genus. Peter coxhead (talk) 10:45, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

- @Aona1212: The latest description of the cut-down genus I've found is Marusik (1985) – reference in the article. It's in Russian, but I've managed (with some difficulty) to get Google to translate some of it.
