population 1980 incorrect

According to the source given below the table in the section demograhics the population of Cebu Province at the time of the census of 1980 was: 1,392,008 (excluding Cebu City, Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City), while the table here says it was 1,410,346. I also checked the population of all municipalities and cities of Cebu (excluding Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu) in this source (from psa.gov.ph) and it also added up to a total of 1,392,008. I tried to correct it, but I do not understand how to change it because it uses a template or Wikidata or something. Cebu Festivals

I wish to simply add at least five pictures of Cebu Festivals in the Festivals section to provide visuals of the Christian Practices and Culture of Cebu. I request permission to add these pictures. Manuel Calunod (talk) 08:15, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

• Such images are not needed here, see WP:GALLERY and MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE. Even the images you already added are overkill and cluttering up the page. You could consider adding such images to the article Festivals of Cebu, but even in that article, there are already plenty of images. Regards, -- P 1 9 9  ✉ 12:34, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

  I understand your position. However, the reason why I add pictures is not to overload an article, but rather to provide visual information to all people regarding Cebu, especially when it comes to Cebuano Culture and Traditions. This is especially true for Cebu's Festivals. Having pictures for every festival in Cebu gives people an idea as to the culture and traditions of every town in Cebu. This is why I add pictures to the Festivals of Cebu article whenever a new festival picture appears here. It is also a way of mapping the culture of Cebu which is simply too diverse to list down in its entirety. I only want to let people know about Cebu in a more in-depth way so people can appreciate Cebu more and also contribute to cultural exchange.

  I completely understand why there is a need to make a whole new article about the Festivals of Cebu. As a matter of fact, I am grateful that there is a bigger avenue for Cebuano Cultural Exploration. However, I was simply suggesting at least five pictures of Festivals in Cebu in the original Cebu article so that people can have a small idea of the Culture and Traditions of the Cebuano People. However, if five pictures is too much, we can always agree upon a certain number of pictures that are allowed in the article of the Province of Cebu (hopefully it can be more than one, nonetheless).

  On my citations, rest assured I am gathering them all. It is just difficult sometimes because of how vast the cultural domain of Cebu is. Also, Cebuano Culture is currently in a state of flux due to various socio-political changes nparadigm s that are happening right now, as we speak. It is also for that reason why I have to make major updates on the Festivals of Cebu every now and then. But I will gather all citations in bulk orders, one at a time. • Images are never meant to be the primary means of providing information. They should only support the paragraphs where appropriate. Therefore it is not necessary to add images of festivals to this article, and neither is it necessary to add images of every festival to the article Festivals of Cebu.   While I understand that images should not be our only source of information, having pictures in Cebu is the closest way we can paint a picture of the vibrancy of Cebuano Culture and Traditions.

  In the article of Cebu, I only wished to add three or five pictures of Festivals of Cebu that are foundational to Cebuano culture. An example of this is Sinulog which is "Central" to Cebuano Culture and Traditions. I was not planning to add many in the original article.

  As For the Festivals of Cebu article, I only wanted to add at least one picture for every other festival in Cebu as a visual aid. Forgive me if you feel that they are a lot, but we really do have that many festivals. In a lot of books and reading materials of Cebu, there are many visual aids of each aspect of Cebuano Culture in the form of photographs. And they are necessary because they depict whatever is written in the book in a way that is more visually understandable. This is especially useful for younger readers and audiences who tend to learn visually.

  Please understand I am not trying to disrupt articles. I just simply want to map out the culture of my place, as a Cebuano myself, so that fellow Cebuanos and people outside Cebu can have an idea of what Cebu is like as a whole.
