The population estimated here for Cayon is very incorrect, regardless of if there is an internet source claiming it is such. A population of 800 is a tragic gross underestimation. According to the results from the 2010 general election, there were 5 polling stations in Cayon, as evidenced here: http://www.sknvibes.com/politics/elections_results_new.cfm , where Cayon is a part of Constituency #8. The total registered voters in those 5 polling stations sums up to 1,761. Because St. Kitts has a near 100% rate of registration of voters above the age of 18, one can assume 1,761 people above the age of 18 living in Cayon. According to the Demographics of Saint Kitts and Nevis page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Saint_Kitts_and_Nevis, 27.5% of the nation's population is 14 and under. Marking this up to include those aged 14-18 could see an increase to approximately 30%. Thus, one can assume that the 1,761 figure represents 70% of the population. Thus, a true good estimate of the population for the town of cayon would be 1761/7 X 10 = 2,515, or roughly 2,500.
