Self-reference

[edit]

simplified self-reference didn't work - what does this mean? Tedernst | talk 19:24, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

It just showed the text "For Wikipedia categories, see " at the top of the page. Instead of linking to the Category:Categories you've added the article to this category. I've just figured out what was wrong and it's the reason why I've reverted to the previous version instead of fixing your edit. Besides, I like it more the way it was before :-) If you want to change this to the way you like it, note the colon when you link to a category. Jogers 20:32, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ah, that makes sense. Sorry for the confusion. I'll leave it alone for now. :-) Tedernst | talk 20:53, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image??

[edit]

Why is that picture there (twice!), and why can't I see the code for it in the edit page so I can remove it? Aleta 04:27, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Etymology

[edit]

I've just corrected the Greek spelling of kategoria: the previous version was misspelt, & had an accent on every vowel for good measure! --NigelG (or Ndsg) | Talk 11:36, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Set index article

[edit]

Should this be changed from {{disambig}} to {{Set index article}}? After all, each example is about some kind of category (and this is true for the see also disambigs). Dpleibovitz (talk) 20:58, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Probably not e.g. because it would mean that unintentional incoming links would probably not get fixed. Why would it would be better as a SIA? A broad concept article might just work (although TBH I don't think you would be the best person to write it). DexDor (talk) 13:07, 8 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I wonder what happens if you add a category page to itself... Will it cause a paradoxical loop??  Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.95.160.67 (talk) 23:15, 20 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Lost categories

[edit]

How can I find whether my memory is wrong about the former existence of a group of categories (Delegates to the Democratic and Republican quadrennial national conventions)? --Orange Mike | Talk 16:37, 3 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Missing broad concept article?

[edit]

According to the template, a broad concept article needs to be written. Wouldn't this be a duplicate of Classification? I'm minded to delete the template and make classification the primary topic. lp0 on fire () 11:22, 11 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
