Rescue

[edit]

I have made an attempt to "save" this article. It had previously been nominated under WP:PROD, and (in honesty) I'm not sure how it survived. The previous version was largely a "dumping ground" of content copied and pasted from other sources, which is very much inappropriate under project norms for copyvio and content mirroring. Beyond the copyvio issues, much of this copy-pasta content had limited relevance to the apparent subject (the house and estate). As such, I removed the content about Ballyhea as it was (a) a verbatim extract from Lewis's 1837 Topographical Dictionary, (b) redundant to the separate Ballyhea article and (c) barely mentioned the article subject (the castle/estate). I also removed the "list of related reading" as this was equally irrelevant for the most part, and also a copy of the Landed Estates Database biblio. What remains is still (frankly) somewhat problematic under MOS standards (not least the "hacked" infobox and awkward "family" section). Hence am leaving the clean-up hat note in place. Further cleanup

[edit]
The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived.

As per above, the issues that likely need focus include:

  • adding a standard infobox
  • expansion of sources
  • add context & structure to remaining sections

If no other contributors address this in coming period, I'll likely review myself. (Perhaps even simply removing the problem content). Guliolopez (talk) 22:51, 2 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
