Details

[edit]

There should be more details about the planting and the growing of the plant such as time of the year to be planted, conditions and how long does it take until its fruits are ready  Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.176.91.174 (talk) 17:34, 24 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

that feels to me like info that belongs on a gardening instruction site, not a general use encyclopedia 2601:642:C481:4640:0:0:0:2BAB (talk) 23:06, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
The Carolina Reaper is no longer the “hottest” pepper anymore!! Pepper X has taken over the “hottest” pepper status @ 2,690,000 units!! 98.155.159.235 (talk) 08:30, 21 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

SHU Discrepancy

[edit]

I noticed this article lists the Carolina Reaper's SHU rating as 1,641,183, while the table on Chili pepper#Notable hot chili peppers shows it as 2.2M SHU. Which is correct?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.165.218.94 (talk) 21:03, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

It appears both values are potentially correct, 1.64M SHU is an average value from the Winthrop University certification process, while 2.2M SHU is a value later reported by various media sources. There's likely variance from pepper to pepper, the higher value is the reported rating of a single pepper opposed to the lower rating from an average of tested peppers. 161.11.160.60 (talk) 19:55, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
