Redirect?
[edit]If this really is supposed to be the era of Charles II, we should redirect this to The Restoration, which is the much more common term for the same era. No need for two articles covering the same concept. --Jayron32 16:22, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
- I agree; I only wrote it as a quick two minute stub because an Admin kept redirecting it back to Caroline era. I didn’t, however, redirect to Restoration because some people argue that Restoration also takes in James II and William and Mary. I think it’s one of those murky areas no one is ever 100% sure of. New Carolean sections
[edit]The Caroline and (old) Carolean eras were in the seventeenth century, the New Carolean era is in the twenty-first. Other than the monarch having the same name, the new era is not in any sense a revival of or reversion to the old one, in the same way that the reigns of George V and VI from 1910-1952 were not a revival of the Georgian era 1714-1830. Most of the text in these sections seems to come from one online essay by Kate Williams with little of substance in it. Robin S. Taylor (talk) 10:08, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
