Queer categories and citing YouTube?

[edit]

I don't use Wikipedia enough to know the standards and etiquette for citing this kind of thing, but in this interview, Hendrix calls themselves "non-binary and gay" (I think bisexual but idk?) which I think should be included. Is this video an ok source to use? TheMonochroma (talk) 05:18, 3 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think it is fine for this one detail, but would be best if another source could be found since it is a niche station. Thanks for asking and adding to their page! Hippopotenuse72 (talk) 08:21, 8 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Pronouns

[edit]

On the official website they use the pronouns they/them, should this article be consistent with that instead of she/her? AuroraTiara (talk) 17:09, 8 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Good question. Since the articles referenced use she/her I think we stick with that until articles are published otherwise. Just a thought. I am interested to see what others think. I have no issue changing. Hippopotenuse72 (talk) 18:45, 8 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Hippopotenuse72 I popped over here to suggest that we do change pronouns, they use "they/them" on their personal website and it's referred to here, including that they identify as non binary: https://kingstontheatre.ca/creating-characters-with-carisa-hendrix-a-lucy-darling-story/. I think that's probably enough to be going on with and I'm happy to change the pronouns. Trellism (talk) Trellism (talk) 19:54, 4 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good! Thank you for doing this.Hippopotenuse72 (talk) 23:31, 4 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have done this, hopefully it reads OK. I did rephrase some sentences rather than doing a find/replace. In the future, should any of Hendrix's characters become sufficiently notable (Lucy Darling in particular) to expand the article, I think any updates should use a similar format to biographies of drag performers where the character's identity differs from the performer's. So we just match the pronouns etc. to whoever we're talking about. I hope that makes sense. Trellism (talk) 11:07, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much for taking this on AuroraTiara (talk) 17:22, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Could someone update their birthday to May 6th in the article? Here are my references - https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1EACJjvCuj/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1LNqcnaJki/ ExquisiteWhimsy (talk) 11:32, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Neither of those posts explicitly says her birthday is May 6th. The second one also can't be used because we can only use social media posts when they're from official accounts of the article subject (WP:ABOUTSELF). Day Creature (talk) 17:36, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
