Captain Penny's Rule

[edit]

"Captain Penny's Rule" was a misquote from an episode of "The Little Rascals (Our Gang)" in which Spanky's mother catches his father in an act of deception. The last two lines in the episode are the mother (misquoting Lincoln): "You can fool some of the people some of the time!" and Spanky: "But you can't fool Mom! " At least in the beginning, would give credit where it was due: "And so, boys and girls, until tomorrow, remember what Spanky says: you can fool..." If he later started passing off the line as his own, I am disappointed.

The above was added by Sbowell on 2009-07-13 at the bottom of the External links section. I have put it here to save it. I added a version of this in notes to at least get it out of External links. Ideally it should be properly cited and put into the narrative, but I'm only here because I was looking up stuff about "Jungle Larry." Donlammers (talk) 14:58, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
