Her education

[edit]

The article currently reads, "In her undergraduate studies, Carson triple-majored in music, medicine and psychology at Yale University while on a scholarship." This is not correct, and the contributor who wrote this sentence may not understand American university education. Medicine is not a field for undergraduate study in the USA. Thus, it is impossible to major in medicine. Additionally, the contributor who wrote this sentence incorrectly lifted the passage from the cited website, which reads, "Mrs. Carson triple-majored in music, psychology and pre-med." <http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/candy-carson-just-showed-michelle-what-a-classy-first-lady-looks-like-video/> quoting <http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2015/09/09/meet_candy_carson_the_anti-michelle_obama_128020.html> Note that the original passage reads "pre-med" not "medicine." In any event, pre-med is not a major at Yale. One majors in another field and does additional course work as preparation for application to medical school: "Pre-health students may and do major in any discipline without adversely affecting their admission into a health professions school." <http://ocs.yale.edu/content/premedical-studies-yale-college> Therefore, I have changed the article accordingly. Agreed, this is better. Pre-med is not a major but it is a course of study. Legacypac (talk) 19:05, 6 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Help!

[edit]

@78.26: I added reference three to this article and I don't know what I did wrong, I didn't have this trouble when I used it in List of Seventh-day Adventists. Catfurball (talk) 17:21, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Catfurball: found the problem. There was a space put in the URL between "washington" and "post". Those kinds of errors are so difficult to find! Happy editing. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 21:58, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
