Why is the Anthem Deleted?

[edit]

Really? For the one time, Cameroon has no anthem in wikipedia right now. I'm even closed up what's happening? Is it some kind of copyright by Cameroon or something? Thsharkeslayor8058 (talk) 07:24, 9 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

New Template:Use Cameroonian English

[edit]

The article currently has Template:Use British English, but English is one of the official languages of Cameroon and Cameroonian English is a recognised variety. Because of this, I've created Template:Use Cameroonian English to specify variety per MOS:TIES, and I will add this to the article. Pineapple Storage (talk) 14:22, 29 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

"More sources needed" orange banner

[edit]

@AlphaBetaGamma: You added a "more sources needed" orange banner to this article. Since this is a featured article, do you think that this needs to go to WP:FAR? Z1720 (talk) 19:24, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

I don't think the issue is so deep down we need a FAR to patch it up, as we just have two short claims that need sourcing. However Cameroon is completely out of my scope, and we're in a holiday season so I doubt that a random person will come up and fix it. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 10:49, 27 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
This is an older and not well-maintained FA, unfortunately, even out of holiday seasons. CMD (talk) 23:47, 27 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
@AlphaBetaGamma and Chipmunkdavis: FAR requires a two-week notice period for an article before it is posted there, and Madagascar is currently posted there. Perhaps what we could do is let this message serve as the "notice" and if no one offers to make improvements, someone can post this at FAR when Madagascar is finished? Z1720 (talk) 23:50, 27 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm hella busy on January due to exams, mock tests, and the STEP Eiken Grade 1 test, so I don't know if I'll remember. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 01:15, 28 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
No rush to FAR. CMD (talk) 03:41, 28 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis and AlphaBetaGamma: Have the concerns for this article been resolved? If not, should this go to WP:FAR? Z1720 (talk) 04:28, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've added sourcing. Ladtrack (talk) 20:52, 20 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Ladtrack: I added a few citation needed tags that, once resolved, means the orange banner can probably be removed. @Chipmunkdavis: you mentioned above that "This is an older and not well-maintained FA, unfortunately". Are these concerns still in the article? If so, can you be more specific about what your concerns are? Z1720 (talk) 00:47, 25 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've resolved the tags. Ladtrack (talk) 02:38, 25 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The article is a 2007 FA, and you can sort of see that in how the history section gets a bit proseline at about that time. The weight of events is resultingly not appropriate within the section scope. Politics needs a bit of reworking and updating, for example John Fru Ndi passed away a few years ago, and half of Foreign relations is about a resolved conflict that was recent in 2007 but not now. Many stat sources in Economy are dated, some over a decade old. Some similar situations in Demographics. There is no overall Culture section, so that section is essentially a list of different cultural aspects. There's a lot of small paragraphs throughout which reflect the proseliney type updates that have not been consolidated over time. CMD (talk) 01:06, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Ladtrack and Chipmunkdavis: and other talk page watchers: is anyone willing to address/resolve the above? If not, should this article go to WP:FAR? Z1720 (talk) 01:53, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
