Can this article be expanded to explain the significance of the area? Remember the potential international audience at hand. Tychocat 10:49, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, not really. Basically, it's a lock and an area in London and that's it. But considering how comprehensive Wikipedia is when it comes to geographical entries in particular (look up Hundreds for example), it's not surprising that this would show up. It's a well known location and notable lock. I do take issue with the change in the article that puts the area ahead of the lock itself; in my opinion this would be tantamount to saying that Westminster is an area of London, and incidentally mention that there is also a building there with the same name. The name exists because of the lock, located near Camden (although actually it is one of a series of three). I'm not enough of an expert on the location to add much to it. I think that there's no way to make this more significant for an "international" audience, although someone familiar with the history and lore of London's canals might have something useful to share about it. I think until every geographical stub has an "importance" tag, this one doesn't need one. FunnyYetTasty 21:25, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, it used to be part of the TV-am address... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.86.168.132 (talk) 21:41, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rise of the lock.

[edit]

I've removed an unsourced claim about this being a deep lock. Does anybody have a source that says what the fall is? Mayalld (talk) 13:14, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Suzanne by Leonard Cohen

[edit]

I just read in a youtube comment (yes a worthy source of information) that Suzanne was written about a prostitute who was murdered at Camden Lock. Can anyone verify this? --auk (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:55, 3 March 2009 (UTC).Reply

I have removed the following code from the article.

It needs new templates for London Waterbus Company to make it work properly, to get rid of the [[London Zoo station|London Zoo]] and the [[]] in the central box, and as far as I can see, this is the only place that this template group is likely to be used. I had a look at creating the templates, but it is all a bit convoluted. Bob1960evens (talk) 23:02, 2 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Cultural References

[edit]

Has anyone got any opinions on the "Cultural References" section? Several of the entries appear to me to just be trivia, and despite extensive searching, I can find no refs for them, and certainly no third party refs. Bob1960evens (talk) 00:05, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
