The Sun source

[edit]

@CoryGlee: Per WP:THESUN: the newspaper is a deprecated source, and [r]eferences from The Sun are actively discouraged from being used in any article. I understand the source is just being used to reference commentary they made, but that commentary itself isn't really notable/worth-including because the paper lacks reliability. TL;DR, it's not you or anything you wrote that's the problem, just the source. Thank you again for creating the article, and cheers from North Carolina! 😀 Johnson524 20:21, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hey @Johnson524: I never get tired of learning, especially on Wikipedia. I am removing right now. And thanks for the comment. CoryGlee 21:49, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • ... that the surname of a Trinidadian football assistant referee caught the attention of Welsh fans and the British press during Wales's first match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup?
    • ALT1: ... that the surname of a Trinidadian football assistant referee caught the attention of Welsh fans during Wales's first match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup? Source: This Trinidadian newspaper: Leading up to the match, British newspaper The Sun published a satirical story about fans' dismay over "Wales reffing Wales."
    • Part of the article read, "(A fan) said: 'Caleb Wales running one of the lines. Come on FIFA, where's the neutrality?' One added: 'One of the linesmen is called Caleb Wales! It’s a fix!'"
    • Reviewed: Gian Bernardino and Submarine (2010 film)
    • Comment: I will add the two QPQ(s) shortly. Please, if approved I would ask it to be shown on the portal before the end of the World Cup since Wales was appointed to this cup again.
Created by CoryGlee (talk). Number of QPQs required: 2. DYK is currently in unreviewed backlog mode and nominator has 43 past nominations.
