This Article Reads like the Author Wrote it Himself

This Article reads like the author wrote it himself. I'm in the middle of reading his book about an American Filibuster in China, and I thought I'd check out his article. This article is absurdly specific, it even details the species of cat that he has lived with since 2006. It's obviously written by the man himself, or some close associate, and needs to be trimmed. Caleb's cancer diagnosis

According to the book My Beloved Monster, he was diagnosed with cancer in the Spring of 2021. He may not have revealed to the world that he had cancer until May 2024, but the book makes it clear he had cancer before Masha died in 2022. 174.74.210.132 (talk) 15:54, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

"nothing less"

The first paragraph under "Early years and education" quotes Carr as saying, "They made me determined never to be a fiction writer". This reaffirmed an earlier sentiment in a 1997 interview, where he stated that, as a child, he "wanted nothing less than to be a fiction writer." The second quotation -- he "wanted nothing less than to be a fiction writer" -- seems to contradict the first, because it ordinarily would mean that he wants to be a fiction writer more than anything else. I read the source and saw that it in fact is consistent with the first quote, because he meant it literally, not as it is ordinarily used.
