Kelvin melting points are different

In the infobox, caesium has a melting point of 301.7 K, however in the text itself, it has a melting point of 301.6 K. I assume this is because the temperature template in the text doesn't round things up and just removes decimal places after tenths HAt 05:56, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Googling it suggests it's 28.44 °C which translates to 301.59 Kelvin. Tayste (edits) 07:38, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

At the bottom of the infobox there's a link to "references", leading to compilations like Melting points of the elements (data page). Both these sources are cited there. (I don't remember why it was set up this way, but probably it has something to do with how the references would be to the same handbooks on every element article.) Electronegativity is not sourced.

These two claims are not sourced:

  • It is the least electronegative element, with a value of 0.79 on the Pauling scale.
  • Notably, caesium and fluorine have the lowest and highest electronegativities, respectively, among all the known elements.

The Pauling table says it is this same value in all three of the reference-sets: "WEL", "CRC", "LNG" (see the §References section for the bibliographic details of each ref-set). DMacks (talk) 18:33, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

How long will the supply last?

Well, with a production capacity of 12000 barrels of caesium formate solution per year the production of caesium counted as element is much higher than 4-5 tonnes per year.~2026-60943-0 (talk) 03:55, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Swedish production

Erland Grip, former geologist at the Boliden company, has told me that Boliden had a small production of caesium compounds from pollucite from the Varuträsk pegmatite in their laboratories. At that time, probably the 1930s, the price was higher than gold, but the market saturated very quickly, I believe after a few kilograms.~2026-60943-0 (talk) 04:03, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
