I navigated to here from a page about Orleanists and a sub heading relating to a time in the 19th century when they were afraid of Caesarism.
This page redirected me to a book which wasn't written for another 75 years!

Caesarism is somewhat loosely defined on this page. I'm not tremendously educated on the nuances of the term so anyone is free to correct me, but, for example, wouldn't "Red Caesarism" but more like something else? It seems to me that the defining quality of Caesarism as opposed to other authoritarian ideologies, exemplified by Caesar (and mostly by Bonaparte) is social policy that has what we would today consider left-wing values; pro-active social policy, a concern for the poor, etc.
Like I said, I'm not tremendously educated on the term itself so some clarity as to what the term actually describes would be helpful (either on the page or in reply). Delukiel (talk) 08:30, 12 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
