But lacking that, any of thousands of true sentences built around that, whose verb is other than to be, would serve as the basis for creating a stub with that title.

Caddy doesn't really deserve a stub, although it had a school of its own in 1908, it is only 3 miles from Randalstown. It has a community hall and Facebook page. In ictu oculi (talk) 13:06, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

• Comment: No actual rationale was provided. We disambiguation topics, not titles. This is a commonly used spelling for someone who assists a golf player. Why should this move be performed? Merely because someone previously suggested it? — BarrelProof (talk) 17:30, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
• Oppose, "caddy" is the common alternate name for "caddie", and was the name of that page before the move. The first six words at that page are "In golf, a caddie (or caddy)..." This is another RM at a disamb. page when it maybe should be at the main page to be changed, which would be Caddie (where there is no notice of this move). • Comment: Personally I'd always spell it "caddie", but before we change it we'd need some ideas as to what people typing "caddy" are looking for. • Comment: See here for more relevant usage statistics. When someone go to Caddy they are probably more likely to mean Volkswagen Caddy, Caddy (web server) or Caddy (hardware) as most looking for Caddie would probably just type that. It does not seem like the golf Caddie is the clear primary topic for Caddy. This disambig page also links to Caddie right at the top of the page. Tholme (talk) 23:35, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
  • Doesn't the fact that the disambig page numbers are so small, tell us that people are not getting to eg Volkswagen Caddy, Caddy (web server) or Caddy (hardware) through the disambig page? BTW both Golf caddy and Golf caddies (which are redirects to Caddie) get a lot of hits, ~150 a day. Nigej (talk) 08:01, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

This does not inspire a whole lot of confidence that the status quo claim of primary topic is valid. I suggest we move it. Indeed I'd support doing a measurement trick - make the link from the new caddy disambiguation page to caddie involve a redirect, and then revisit the view statistics of that redirect later to see if it's become the most visited one. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 08:39, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
