Lead

[edit]

Hello!

I've done some copyediting of the lead, and I removed two parts which are not clear. The parts I removed are in bold:

"The World Cup qualifiers of CONMEBOL have been described as the most difficult in the world, due to their round-robin system, inclusion of some of the best teams in the world, leveling of the weaker national teams, climate and geographic conditions, strong home stands and passionate spectators."

If someone can come up with a way for us to explain these briefly, or describe them using different words so it's clear what they mean, then we can add them back in. OrdinaryOtter(talk) 05:57, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Update: An editor has removed the segment in question with this edit. Since the content comes from reliable sources, I suggest we put in back into the article in a more appropriate place. OrdinaryOtter(talk) 02:16, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

What it stands for

[edit]

Nowhere in this article does it say what CONMEBOL stands for or is short for.Ordinary Person (talk) 06:46, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
