Moving page
[edit]The current page name, COP1, is an outdated gene symbol ("CARD-only protein 1"). It seems to conflict with an apparently unrelated plant gene also called COP1 ("Constitutive photomorphogenesis protein 1 ", eg: https://www.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/P43254/entry), so it's probably important to change this to avoid confusion. The uniprot recommended protein name, "Caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 16", is too long, so I will try to move the page to the gene symbol: "CARD16" Pabnau (talk) 05:22, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- Well, it's actually worse than that. The plant version also exists in animals, and its official HUGO symbol is "COP1" (the page is here: RFWD2). The COP1 that this page is about (and apparently has always been about) was never officially given the symbol COP1. I'll see if I can clean things up, but I'm guessing I'm going to run into some hiccups Pabnau (talk) 05:29, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
