My idea: One should search information about the problem of the high power capacity (1500 MWel.), higher than all current 400+... operating plants of the generation II-design (except 4 in France: Chooz 1/2 + Civaux 1/2), confronted with the entirely passive driven safety systems, which work mainly on a pressure level not far from atmospheric conditions (1 bar + a few, except the accumulators with about 25 bars - low pressure too). That could be problematic in situations when the reactor system incidentally rises at overpressures like 170 bars or more. There exists, however, an automatic, relatively fast depressurization system (ADS); the question only remains, does it react quickly enough - without core overheating?! Westinghouse leaders, at the beginning of this license transfer process, rejected their support of such a high power level for a passive safety plant (AP-1000 works, as quite well known, on a power level of 'only' 1100 MWel). 62.202.189.87 (talk) 18:25, 19 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
