Invalid citing

Citing things like "According to Tom Schnell" when you don't have firsthand knowledge or interviews is not appropriate and misleading. Just because an online article says something does not make it true. CreatorTom (talk) 22:47, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi CreatorTom, I am inclined to agree especially with the context of the potentially questionable reliable source. camm design/looks?

It's not really clear if the finalised standard set by JEDEC as CAMM2 is dell's, adata's or a whole different design? or are they all compatible with each other? it would help if the article included pictures. 175.156.212.16 (talk) 14:05, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

No compression?

I found this while looking for a hardware implementation of zram, but I have found sparse info on the actual compression. Is the memory compressed at all? Compared to the software implementation, doing this in hardware might be able to transparently compress and decompress pages between cache and RAM, instead of having to swap them both ways in and out of RAM (in compressed and uncompressed form).—Anordal (talk) 22:33, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Anordal Compression in Camm refers to the memory being compressed against the pins by screws - not data compression. - nathanielcwm (talk) 06:15, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Video card memory 80s early 90s

Well, thanks to the memory shortage, I'd expect everyone to be scavenging those modules off every scrapped board by now, both modules and motherboards -- so no change anyways! With the 2026 DDR5 memory shortage caused by the increased usage of AI, I was interested in Micron's introduction of a world first of a 256GB SOCAMM2 module which targets AI

Popularity of CAMM vs. SO-DIMM/soldered years after introduction

"Before 2022, most laptops used either SO-DIMMs or soldered-on memory modules. SO-DIMMs were developed in 1997 as a size-reduced version of the Dual In-line Memory Module (DIMM)."

This article needs serious attention. Even today, in the autumn 2026 CAMM is rare thing. Article more or less suggests that after introduction of CAMM it suddenly gained lot of popularity and in 2023 everyone was using CAMM and nothing else.
